We are very pleased to announce that Wigan Council, Department of Adult Services,
Adult Learning and Employment have placed an Order for ASSET.
ASSET is the ground-breaking, web based application which allows staff of Adults' Services to access information on their caseload securely wherever they are and whenever they need it.
ASSET has been the most popular database system used by Supported Employment agencies since 1996.
The Learning and Employment Service works with a range of community organisations to support a wide range of learning opportunities. The service also provides information, advice and guidance to anyone 18 and over, on any issue relating to learning and work.
The service is free, impartial and confidential. Whether you want to improve your career prospects, get a qualification or just make the most of your job, the service can help you.

The service can help you to get back into learning, develop your skills and improve your career prospects. We can:
give advice on ways to search for and apply for jobs, e.g. interview skills, CV workshop, completing applications forms, basic IT skills.
help link your personal interests and skills to your job or career;
give advice on ways to progress in a career;
identify the skills you may need and refer you to other support (if necessary) to help you to improve your reading, writing and maths skills;
refer you to other support available;
help you understand the job market;
give advice about financial support available;
give advice about services available during redundancy, including how to access services;
give advice about what is and is not available, and discuss alternatives.
The team have extensive experience of supporting people with a range of needs, many of whom have multiple barriers to overcome.
The service is also the primary deliverer of careers advice, advice and guidance services, and a range of other advice services across the borough.
